Cinnamon is a 10-year-old
brown tabby who returned to
AFRP when her elderly
caretaker could no longer keep
her. Originally from the
Monterey County Shelter,
Cinnamon is now the AFRP
office cat, where she warms
laps and charms everyone she
meets with her funny, friendly
meow that sounds like a creaky
door. Cinnamon enjoys being
petted and brushed, and is not
shy about asking for attention.
She'd be a great match for
anyone looking for friendly
single cat companion. Yes,
she's a few pounds
overweight, but that just adds
to her charm. She'd love a diet
buddy! Cinnamon is currently
the AFRP office cat at 560
Lighthouse Ave in Pacific
Grove. Stop by and ask to meet
her!
What a face! Mugsy is a
6-year-old, 13-pound
Chihuahua/Pug mix (Chug!)
who came to AFRP after being
found as a stray in Salinas. He's
a sweet and cuddly boy who
loves snuggling with you on the
sofa. Mugsy gets along great
with other dogs, both large and
small, and does fine with
dog-savvy cats. Well behaved
and easy to have around the
house, Mugsy is crate trained,
good on the leash and enjoys
rides in the car. He would be a
good match for a household with
another dog, as he loves to
wrestle and play chase. Mugsy is
very affectionate and devoted to
his people. Flea-infested when
he came to us, Mugsy's coat is
now filling in and looking great.
Boomer is deaf, but that
doesn't stop him from enjoying
life to the fullest! He's a bright,
good-natured 5-month-old
Dalmatian mix who came to
AFRP from the Monterey
County Animal Services after
coming in as a stray in
September. Incredibly smart
and focused, Boomer has
already learned several hand
signals in the short time he's
been in foster care. He gets
along great with other dogs
and has lots of happy puppy
energy. Boomer is looking for
an adopter who is committed
to continuing Boomer's
education and ensuring that he
becomes a wonderful
ambassador for deaf dogs.
Kris Kristofferson is a ruggedly
handsome 10-year-old
blue-eyed Lynx Point Siamese
mix who came to us from the
Salinas Animal Services. He's
lived a hard life and probably
has some heartbreaking tales
to tell or sad ballads to sing, if
only he could! Kris was
extremely thin and a vet exam
revealed the reason--he had a
severe case of stomatitis and
needed dental surgery to
extract some painfully infected
teeth. Now that Kris is able to
eat comfortably again, he's
gradually putting on some
weight and is feeling much
better. This guy is an absolute
doll who loves to be held and
appreciates gentle stroking and
scratches under his chin. Let us
know if you'd like to meet Kris!
Bizzy is a happy, wiggly
1-year-old, 5-pound
Chihuahua mix who has the
sunniest of dispositions despite
enduring a couple of
challenging months.
Abandoned with an fractured
front leg in the night drop box
at the Monterey County Animal
Services in January, Bizzy was
transferred to AFRP for
medical care. Fortunately
Bizzy's leg healed nicely and
after spending six weeks in a
cast, Bizzy is now ready for a
home of his own. He still favors
his right front leg, but is
gaining strength every day and
it won't be long before he's
walking without a trace of a
limp. He's a bright and frisky
little dog eager to start life
afresh with a family of his own.
Bonnie is a beautiful
medium-longhaired calico cat.
Because of her extra-large
stature, she may be a Maine
Coon mix. She's about three
years old, and came to us from
the Monterey County Animal
Services. Bonnie is a very
sweet and gentle cat who loves
to be stroked and will curl up
on your lap for a nap. She gets
along nicely with other cats,
but would also be perfectly
happy as a single cat in the
household. Bonnie has a very
calm, serene demeanor and
would be a wonderful addition
to most any household. Meet
Bonnie at the AFRP Adoption
Center, 560 Lighthouse Ave in
Pacific Grove
